Martinsville NASCAR Practice #1 Notes

Chase Elliott – Ten minutes into practice while he was 5th he said his handling is very similar to how it felt last fall. He was very good in that race. Ended the session 6th on the speed chart.

Ryan Newman – Said his car was good off the truck. Said he felt like he was competitive the whole time this session. Has a little bit of work to do.

Martin Truex Jr. – Worked on shaking down his care this session. Very fast. His opening run put him at the top of the speed chart and he finished the session there.

Denny Hamlin – Putting a lot of stock into this practice session since he thinks the track surface will be similar tomorrow. Appears to have a very competitive car.

AJ Allmendinger – Early in practice while he was 8th he said, loose in, but too tight when the trackbar is adjusted. During a run 35 minutes into practice he said an adjustment helped a wheel hopping issue.
