Kansas NASCAR Happy Hour Practice Notes
Joey Logano – Was the first driver out on the track logging practice laps. He started out in race trim with a 5 lap run. Ran a good amount of laps this session. Stayed in race trim the entire session. His 15 lap average ranked as the 7th best.
Kyle Larson – Appears to have a a good car this weekend. Had good speed and must be happy with his car since he made a really long run. His fifteen lap average ranked as the second best.

Austin Dillon – During his first run he said something wasn’t right and he heard something pop. 20 minutes into practice while he was 16th he said he was too loose and was looking for side bite. An hour into practice he said, “Better. Tight on exit. We need help in Turn 3. Overall, it’s better.” About an hour and forty five minutes into practice he was tight. Late in practice in race trim he said, “Our car drives better.”
Jimmie Johnson – While he was 23rd, 110 minutes into practice he said he was pretty comfortable. Was lacking speed this session.
Ty Dillon – An hour into practice while he was 29th he said “Those adjustments definitely helped, but we need more.” 70 minutes into practice he said “It’s still the same, the front won’t turn off the wall at all. Feels numb all the way through three and four.” 110 minutes into practice he said, “Still too tight but way better than we were before.”
