Charlotte NASCAR Happy Hour Practice Notes
Erik Jones – Had very competitive lap times during his opening run. Started with a 19 lap run and his 15 lap average over that ranked as the best. Jeff Gordon said his car has been on rails.
Kevin Harvick – Served a 30 minute penalty at the end of practice. Had great speed over his opening long run. Was the first driver to practice running at the top of the track on the traction substance. His 15 lap average ranked as the 4th best.

Kyle Larson – Has a very competitive car this weekend. His car was tight and he said it started plowing after a few laps into a run. His 15 lap average ranked as the 2nd best.
AJ Allmendinger – Early in practice while he was 20th he said he was loose and the back of his car was wiggling through the corner. 20 minutes into practice while he was 22nd he said, “Car’s rotating really nice.” With about 10 minutes to go while he was 23rd he said, “That gave me all the rear security I was looking for.”
Matt DiBenedetto – Ten minutes into practice while he was 22nd he said, “This thing is GOOD!!!” Late in practice while he was 27th he said “It cut better, but it’s still tight. Car needs to be freed up overall but I don’t want to lose stability on corner entry.”
