Kansas NASCAR Practice #1 Notes

Kyle Larson – Got into the wall hard near the end of practice. He’ll be going to a backup car and will start in the rear of the field. He’ll be scored from where he qualifies. Said his backup car should be plenty fine.

Alex Bowman – Focused on qualifying trim exclusively. Following his first lap which put him 3rd he reported that his car was darty. Following his 2nd run he jumped up to 2nd.

Regan Smith – Started in race trim with a mini-run. Following his opening ten lap run in race trim he said he was tight in the middle of 3&4 and loose in #2. Following that run he went to qualifying trim.

Aric Almirola – His opening run put him at the top of the speed chart about 20 minutes into practice. Focused exclusively on qualifying trim.

Chase Elliott – Tested here. Felt good about his car following the test. Focused exclusively on qualifying trim. Near the end of practice while he was 5th he reported his car turned better.
