Talladega NASCAR Happy Hour Practice Notes

BREAKING NEWS: Wicker bills were added to rear spoilers right before the practice session. This will increase down force and slow the cars down a little bit. Closing rates between cars was increased.

Brendan Gaughan – Tyler Reddick spent some time driving his car this session. Reddick will also qualifying his car tomorrow since Gaughan will be away from the track. Gaughan will start in the rear of the field since it’s a driver change.

Denny Hamlin – His car didn’t have the feel he wanted early. It was extremely loose. Denny Hamlin did some practice bump drafting. Late in practice his car seemed to be improved because he was leading a pack.

Kurt Busch – Early in practice he was leading a pack of cars. Late in practice he also spent time leading the pack. His car impressed DW.

Joey Logano – Early in practice he was leading a pack. Did some tandem drafting with Brad Keselowski. He thinks his car is in the hunt, but they have some changes to do.
