Kansas NASCAR Practice #1 Notes
Alex Bowman – Early in practice he said, “It’s just bouncing the nose in the center.” Ten minutes into practice while he was 16th he said, “The bouncing is still there, not hitting the splitter. His car was a little free but he likes his balance. 20 minutes into practice he said “I’m too free right there to commit to staying wide open. I’m chasing it more than I would like to be. That just added rotation.”
Ty Dillon – Early in practice he said, “Too loose there. It’s really front sensitive. I can hardly move the wheel.” 25 minutes into practice while he was 28th he said, “We snugged up the front, but the back is still really loose.” Late in practice he was looking for his car to turn better through the middle so that he can drive wide open.
Ryan Preece – He was happy with his car early in practice. “This is the best car we’ve unloaded with.”
Jimmie Johnson – Early in practice after completing 3 laps he said his car is pretty loose. Following his second run he reported he was better, but still a little free in traffic. 40 minutes into practice while he was 17th after completing 18 laps he reported his car is still loose.
David Ragan – Early in practice he said, “It’s bouncing around the entire race track. It’s just rocking around the entire track.” Following his second run he said his car is about 30% better. Later he reported he was 60% better.
