Daytona Happy Hour Practice Notes
Chevy – Ten minutes into practice a huge Chevy draft ensued. They did a good job staying in line despite Toyota’s making a run on their pack.
Toyota – Early in practice the Toyota teams were working together. They later blended in near the back of the Chevy pack.
William Byron – He spent some time running in different lanes to figure out where his car works best in the draft. His car appeared to look pretty good. 35 minutes into practice he had contact with Keselowski which damaged his car. He reported that his car is too free. Byron will be going to a backup car and he’ll start in the rear of the field. He’ll be scored from where he qualifies.
David Ragan – 20 minutes into practice he said, “It’s a lot better this run, but still needs to be tightened.”
Jimmie Johnson – His car looked pretty good near the front of the draft around the midpoint. He was happy with the handling of his car this session.
Austin Dillon – 25 minutes into practice he said, “I’m really happy with the way it drove right there.”
