Charlotte Roval Fantasy NASCAR Top Tier Elite Picks
Martin Truex Jr. – Martin Truex Jr. is the premiere road course racer in NASCAR and at the Charlotte Roval I think he’ll be the driver to beat. He’s already locked into the next round of the Playoffs so he can afford to go all out for the win. Last year at the Roval, Truex Jr. had a great performance and would’ve won if Johnson didn’t take him out when he wheel hopped right at the end. That collision took away a certain victory and relegated him to a 14th place finish. From the race I’ll note he earned the 6th best driver rating and had an 8th place average running position. This year at road courses, nobody has been better than Truex Jr. He finished 2nd at Watkins Glen and at Sonoma he led 59 laps and raced his way to victory lane. Overall in recent races at road courses, he’s really been in a league of his own. Over the last six races on this track type he has 3 wins, 2 second place finishes and then his misleading result here at the Roval where he was spun out while leading last year. On Sunday, look for Truex Jr. to finish in the top five and be a serious threat to win.

Kyle Larson – Last year at the Charlotte Roval, nobody was better than Kyle Larson. “Performance Wise”, he had the field covered but during a late restart while he was battling for the lead he wrecked in the “Big One” which led to his 25th place finish. From the race it should be noted he earned the best driver rating, had a 5th place average running position and led 47 laps. He would’ve led even more laps, but he took it easy near the end because it was speculated Keselowski would run out of gas and he would then inherit the lead so he didn’t push hard. This year at road courses, Larson has run well and has swept the top ten. He finished 8th at Watkins Glen and 10th at Sonoma. After how well he ran last year only to get robbed, I think he’s poised to have another strong performance and on Sunday I would look for him to finish in the top five and compete for the win.
Chase Elliott – Chase Elliott will be a contender at the Charlotte Roval. He had a great race last year, and I think he’s becoming one of the premier road course racers in the series. At Watkins Glen, the most recent road course visited he raced his way to victory lane and led all but 10 laps. Since 2018 on this track type minus a misleading result at Sonoma this summer he’s finished in the top 6 every race and has a 3rd place average finish. Last year at the Roval, Elliott had a strong performance. When the checkered flag waved he finished 6th, earned the 4th best driver rating and had a 9th place average running position. Additionally, he finished 5th in Stage #1 and 7th in Stage #2. On Sunday, look for Elliott to compete for a top five and potentially be a factor to win.
