The Low Tier – Charlotte Roval
Matt Tifft – Matt Tifft hasn’t done anything to inspire confidence for the Roval. This year at road courses he has results of 24th (Watkins Glen) and 28th (Sonoma). I’ll note in both of those races he finished within 2 positions of where he started so perhaps there is something there. Last year in the lower series at the Roval he finished 6th. On Sunday, I would look for him to finish around the mid-twenties.

Ryan Preece – At the Roval, its hard to see any good coming out of picking Ryan Preece. This year at road courses he hasn’t done anything to inspire confidence. He finished 29th at Sonoma and 36th at Watkins Glen (rear gear problems). You can’t take away anything away from those performances and think anything good is going to happen from picking him. Last year in the lower series at the Roval, Preece drove the JGR #18 and finished 4th.
Landon Cassill – If you pick Landon Cassill, you likely know what your getting yourself into and that’s a high-twenties to low-thirties result unless the attrition rate is high. This year at road courses he has results of 29th (Watkins Glen) and 31st (Sonoma). Last year when the Roval made its debut, Cassill had a very poor performance. He finished 29th and had a 34th place average running position.
Ross Chastian – At the Charlotte Roval, I think its best to keep expectations low and view Ross Chastain as a high-twenties driver. Last year when the Roval made its debut he finished 24th, had a 32nd place average running position and earned the 30th best driver rating. Keep in mind attrition really helped him out. This year at road courses, Chastain has made only one start and it was at Watkins Glen. At that venue he finished 27th, earned the 28th best driver rating and had a 29th place average running position.
