Phoenix (ISM Raceway) NASCAR Practice #1 Notes

Kevin Harvick – His car showed really good speed at the start of the session. His lap 11 speed ten minutes into practice was the fastest among drivers who ran a double digit amount of laps. At that time compared to Truex Jr. his lap 11 was about 2MPH faster.

Kyle Larson – His car was really fast and 20 minutes into the session he was at the top of the speed chart. He was the only driver who did a 20 lap run. His 5 lap average ranked as the best.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. – 30 minutes into practice while he was 14th after running 12 laps he said “Chattering the front.” “Coming to you. I can’t drive this.” His practice session ended early because of an inspection penalty from Texas.

Kyle Busch – Late in the session he did a qualifying run which jumped him to the top of the speed chart.

Joey Logano – His opening long run put him at the top of the speed chart. He appears to have a good car this weekend. His 5 lap average ranked as the 3rd best.
