PROS is an acronym for Projected Ranking Of Strength. What’s projected in this post is how good the driver was the last time they raced at Daytona (summer 2012). In fantasy racing you can’t just look at their finish position and believe that’s how well they ran. Things happen in races and the PROS Rankings [...]

AJ Allmendinger has failed a NASCAR random drug test. As a result he’s out tonight and Sam Hornish Jr. will be piloting the #22 car tonight in the Daytona Coke Zero 400.
NOTE: I jumped the gun on this post. He FAILED A RANDOM DRUG TEST. CHECK OUT THAT POST AJ Allmendinger will not be driving in the Daytona Coke Zero 400. He is out with a stomach bug. Sam Hornish Jr. will be piloting the #22 car tonight.
Matt Kenseth What I said about him earlier this week: Kenseth won this years “Great American race” in impressive fashion. When his car was out front leading nobody could pass him. He led 50 laps and started in fourth courtesy of his win in his respective Gatorade Duel Race. One thing that needs to be [...]
Get Your Dart Board Out, Part 3 The races at Daytona and Talladega are borderline impossible to predict, but there are a few things that I like when picking drivers in fantasy this week. First is momentum: who has been hot lately in Sprint Cup? It doesn’t mean a whole lot, but it seems like [...]

As I say every time the Sprint Cup Series visits a restrictor plate tracks, practice times are pretty much worthless and qualifying is even more useless. With that being said, I still post these average speeds because I like to use them as a “tiebreaker” of sorts if I am stuck between two drivers. Instead [...]
New to ifantasyrace in 2012, the Total Driver Power Rankings will be a weekly post that is similar to ESPN’s Total QB Rating for the NFL. This isn’t a normal power rankings chart, nor is it a prediction for the upcoming race, but rather a combination of the two. Taken into account to arrive at [...]
Ryan Newman – Ryan Newman had a tough Daytona 500. On lap #13 he had a flat tire and spun out. He then came down to pit road only to have a loose tire roll off his car following a pit stop bringing him to a dead halt on pit road. Allmendinger got the worst [...]
Jeff Burton – Jeff Burton had a good performance in the Daytona 500. He finished 5th and had one of the strongest bump drafting cars in the race. He led 24 laps (4th most) and had the second best average running position (6th). Only Greg Biffle ran more laps in the top fifteen than him. [...]
Kyle Busch – Kyle Busch had a disappointing Daytona 500. He was never really a factor and only rose to the front before the mid-point point $200,000 prize. With five laps to go he was racing in ninth but the very next lap he got swept up in a wreck. During speed weeks under the [...]
Dale Earnhardt Jr. – I think Dale Earnhardt Jr. will be considered a favorite by many experts to win the Coke Zero 400. In this years Daytona 500 Earnhardt Jr. finished 2nd to Matt Kenseth. If he got any help from Greg Biffle then he probably could’ve won the “Great American Race”. In twenty-five Daytona [...]
