The 2013 NASCAR season is now about 1/3rds completed so it’s time to hand out some trimester grades. Some drivers have performed well and others have not. Find out if your favorite driver passed or failed. This post is part of a three part series. These grades are subjective and some drivers are graded on [...]
Denny Hamlin will not be returning for the Richmond Toyota Owners 400. Here’s is a statement he tweeted:
This evening Joe Gibbs Racing announced that they were premature with their earlier statement. Mark Martin will drive the #11 at Martinsville but at Texas Brian Vickers will take over the duties of piloting the car until Hamlin returns.
This evening it was announced that Mark Martin will be replacing Denny Hamlin in the #11 while he heals from his back injuries. Reportedly Mark Martin won’t drive the #11 at Talladega though. Brian Vickers is expected to drive for JGR at that venue.
Due to his injury at Auto Club Speedway Denny Hamlin will be out six weeks. He will not require surgery. Also no replacement driver has been named. Because of the off week he’ll likely miss five races.
According to Jeff Gluck of USA Today Denny Hamlin is injured with a compression fracture in his back. Really no other details about his situation are available as to if he’ll miss time or need surgery.
JOEY LOGANO: Hey dennyhamlin great job protecting that genius brain of yours by keeping your helmet on DENNY HAMLIN: Why’s that.. What would u do? JOEY LOGANO: Show you some love and appreciation DENNY HAMLIN: Need my address? DENNY HAMLIN: Last time I checked he had my cell and direct message button to choose from [...]
Denny Hamlin is changing engines and will have to start at the rear of the field for the Subway Fresh Fit 500.
Denny Hamlin 2012 Stats: Points Finish 6th, 5 Wins, 14 Top Fives, 17 Top Tens, Average Running Position 10.7, Average Finish 12.8, Laps Led 1,226, Driver Rating 100.9 Strengths – Denny Hamlin is a short track and flat track master. He’s in the conversation for being the best driver in the series on both track [...]
Matt Kenseth – This will be Matt Kenseth’s final race in the #17 Roush-Fenway Ford. In future Homestead races I think he’ll miss this car because he’s been so successful here. In five of the last seven races here he’s finished in the top ten. Last year at Homestead he finished 4th and had a [...]
Jimmie Johnson – Jimmie Johnson arguably had the best car at Phoenix earlier this year. His car could roll through the center of the turns better than anyone and when he was out in front of the field the #48 was tenths quicker than the competition. The race wasn’t trouble free for him though. Just [...]
Jimmie Johnson – Jimmie Johnson had a good car at Texas in April but Ryan Newman took away his chance for victory. With about 30 laps to go Johnson was coming to lap Newman but was held up which allowed Biffle to quickly catch him. If that didn’t happen I think it’s likely he would’ve [...]
Jimmie Johnson – Jimmie Johnson is as good of a fantasy pick as they’ll come for the Martinsville Tums Fast Relief 500. He’s won here six times and has only three finishes outside the top ten. His last Martinsville win was in 2009 but by no means has he lost his touch. He had this [...]
Jimmie Johnson – I wouldn’t want to bet against Jimmie Johnson in the Kansas Hollywood Casino 400. He’s been money in the bank at intermediate tracks this year. The track I would recommend you study the most for this race is Michigan. MIS has a new track surface and Jimmie Johnson was impressive in both [...]
Kasey Kahne What to expect: Kasey Kahne should be money in the bank in the Bank of America 500. His car is quick and he’s already viewed as one of the garage area favorites. What I really like about Kahne at Charlotte is his ability to adjust lines on the track. That will be pivotal [...]
