Kansas NASCAR Fantasy Preview
On Sunday NASCAR will make their first and only visit of the year to Kansas Speedway. Don’t let this intimidate you. NASCAR fantasy racers have plenty of data to go by when it comes to selecting NASCAR drivers for this race. The two similar tracks that I would recommend that you review from this year are Chicago and the two Michigan races (For more information on similar tracks click here).
The ifantasyrace.com Top 5 Drivers for Kansas are……….
1) Jimmie Johnson– Johnson is the defending winner of this race and has been very strong all year long on these tracks. Johnson almost won both Michigan races but unfortunately the 48 Lowes car was short on gas in both races. Don’t expect this team to run out of gas this weekend. Johnson also had a good race at Chicago but ran into some double file restart problems at the end of the race.
2) Mark Martin– Earlier in the year Martin won at both Chicago and Michigan. In the other Michigan race Martin was a front runner all day but ran out of gas right at the end of the race. Martin is also the points leader now and there’s no foreseeable reason why this team could struggle at Kansas.
4) Jeff Gordon– Gordon is just a tick below Johnson and Martin when it comes to the intermediate tracks. Gordon won the first two races at this track but don’t get to excited about that. That is an old stat. Things have changed since the (car, track weathering etc.) If you pick Gordon this week please don’t say it’s because he won here twice. Fantasy Racers are smarter than that when it comes to make selections.
4) Kurt Busch- The 2 car is flying under the radar but they are an elite intermediate team this year. His record at Kansas isn’t stellar but look for Kurt to be a front runner at Kansas. The 2 car is also one of hottest teams in the circuit right now.
5) Juan Pablo Montoya– Ever since Montoya was let off his lease this team has been incredible. They have as much momentum as anyone right now and Montoya has also been successful at the 1.5 Mile tracks this year. The 42 team is no fluke and if you write them off then you’ve made a serious mistake.
