Talladega Fantasy Race Picks
Tony Stewart
Why am I picking Tony Stewart?
1. Tony hasn’t been in a major wreck all season long.
2. Tony Stewart is the defending race champion.
3. Tony Stewart won the last restrictor plate race this season at Daytona.
4. He needs to make up points on Johnson so I don’t expect him to race conservatively at the end of the race.
5. Among drivers who’ve raced more than once at Talladega Tony Stewart has the best average running position (13.3).
Other Driver Recommendations:
Kurt Busch – Kurt has the best average finish at Talladega among Chase drivers (12.1) plus he also has nothing to lose by racing hard at Talladega.
Ryan Newman – Newman won the 2007 Daytona 500 and he also finished in the top 5 earlier this season at Talladega.
Matt Kenseth – Even before this years Daytona 500 I considered Kenseth one of the best restrictor plate drivers in NASCAR. Look for him to have a good day at Talladega. Kenseth will also be racing the new Ford engine so look for him to have plenty of power under his hood this weekend.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. – Junior has problems almost every week but according to the rule of averages how can it possibly happen again. If Earnhardt jr’s going to win a race this season it will have to happen at Talladega.
Just so you know I have a little bit of credibility here’s my season long average pick from onpitrow.com
