My DirectTV Head To Head Knockout Bracket
CLICK HERE TO SEE A CORRECT Final Bracket of the DirecTv Head to Head Challenge
Hello Fantasy Racers, what you see in front of you is a near perfect DirectTV Head To Head Knockout Bracket, trust me (LOL). To see the bracket better just double click on the picture above. When you evaluate what driver is going to move on in each individual round in this type of game what you really should be focusing on is ……. The Schedule. When I say schedule I mean how well certain drivers run at certain tracks.
I’ll explain to you how I predicted how each Fastest 4 driver will reach the finals.
Turn 1 Region Winner: Kurt Busch
1st Round Texas: Kurt is opening the first round against Elliott Sadler. For anyone who’s ever read my weekly fantasy NASCAR preview then you’ll know that he’s almost always the driver who I think is a lock to finish outside the top 25. If Kurt doesn’t crash or have engine problems I give Elliott Sadler zero percent chance of advancing.
2nd Round Talladega: In the next round he’s facing his little brother Kyle Busch. Kyle Busch has won at Talladega before but all in all this track is extremely unfriendly for him. I just don’t see him beating Kurt who’s as consistent as anyone on restrictor plate tracks.
Region Finals Richmond: In the next round I have him facing Brad Keselowski who’ll be fresh off upsetting Carl Edwards at Talladega. Unfortunately for Brad he’s running into Kurt Busch at Richmond where he finished 2nd last fall. This win will propel Kurt Busch into the Fastest 4.
Turn 2 Region Winner: Tony Stewart
1st Round Texas: Tony opens the first round against AJ Allmendinger. In my opinion Tony is facing perhaps the best low seed (7th) in the tournament. I think it could be a real tough battle between the two but in the end of the day I give Tony the nod.
2nd Round Talladega: In the next round I have him up against Martin Truex Jr who pulled off the upset against a struggling Burton in the first round. Tony’s had problems each time I picked him as my Onpitrow.com expert pick at Talladega, but I have learned my lesson about picking him there. I think me not picking him will give him the boast he needs to get by Treux.
Region Finals Richmond: In my bracket Stewart’s last challenger who stands in his way before the Fastest 4 is Joey Logano. Richmond has always been a good track for Stewart but unfortunately I can’t say the same for Joey. After this match up I predict Stewart will move to the finals.
Turn 3 Region Winner: Juan Pablo Montoya
1st Round Texas: In the first round Juan is up against a serious challenger in Brian Vickers. Brian Vickers is basically an intermediate track specialist, but remember how good Montoya was at Atlanta. I give Montoya the slight edge.
2nd Round Talladega: This is the upset of the bracket but as I said you need to look at the schedule. Jimmie Johnson gets good finishes at Talladega when he runs near the back. This isn’t fall so I don’t see Jimmie trying that method. I think he will race aggressively and wreck at some point in the race. I don’t even hesitate giving Montoya the edge here.
Region Finals Richmond: Montoya’s had a hard path so far getting to the fastest 4 and having to beat Kevin Harvick at Richmond might just be the toughest challenge he’s had so far. Richmond is semi similar to Phoenix and Montoya outraced Harvick there.
Region 4 Winner: Clint Bowyer
1st Round Texas: David Reutimann is a formidable intermediate track racer but Clint Bowyer isn’t a slouch either. Last fall he finished 7th and he’s finished in the top 10 in half his starts there.
2nd Round Talladega: If Bowyer were to run into Kenseth at Texas I would eliminate him in a heart beat. Kenseth is a good restrictor plate driver but my gut on this one is telling me to give Bowyer the nod. Historically neither driver has been very successful at this track.
Region Finals Richmond: In the last race before the Fastest 4 I have Clint Bowyer up against Jeff Gordon. I think this is the perfect track for Bowyer to pull off the upset. Jeff finished 8th and 3rd there last season but I know at this particular track Bowyer can out race him.
