Practice Breakdown: Pocono 2 – Good Sam RV Insurance 500
The only two practice sessions of this Pocono weekend were held on Friday afternoon, and the starting lineup will be set on Saturday morning. The Good Sam RV Insurance 500 is scheduled to start around 1 pm on Sunday afternoon. Click here for the results of the last Pocono race (in June) and in case you missed my Fantasy Preview that went up on Wednesday, you can read it here. Be sure to check out Ryan’s Scouting Report for “The Tricky Triangle” as well. My final predictions for Sunday’s race should be posted soon after qualifying.
Important Practice Notes: Denny Hamlin seemed to struggle mightily in first practice and I read on Twitter that his car was bottoming out. There was speculation that he was sandbagging, though, for a better qualifying draw. Brad Keselowski spun after cutting a tire down in Happy Hour but kept his Dodge off the wall.

AVERAGE PRACTICE SPEEDS:
Average practice speeds are calculated by taking the average speed of each driver in each practice and multiplying it by the number of laps ran. When you do this for each practice and add the totals together, and then divide by the total number of laps ran, you get an average of their practice speed, instead of just the one lap statistic you see when you look at practice sheets. The order that they are in is the overall average speeds rank of the two Friday practice sessions combined.
