AJ Allmendinger joins Penske Racing in 2012 to drive the 22
Today it was announced that AJ Allmendinger will be joining Penske Racing in 2012. He’s leaving behind the uncertainty of the 43 RPM car for greener pastures in the 22 Shell-Pennzoil Dodge.
No driver has yet been named as a replacement for him at RPM but all indications point towards David Ragan.
Fantasy Spin : The 22 car is a step up for Allmendinger and I think it could translate into about 5 more top ten finishes. Also AJ will now have a better pit crew. The 43 pit crew had some crucial mistakes last year that really hurt his on track performance.
