This Sunday in the Food City 500 at Bristol Brian Vickers will be making his season debut. He’ll be piloting the #55 MWR car in place of Mark Martin.
The question is what will be his fantasy impact in the race. When I say impact I’m not talking about Matt Kenseth. That feud is believed to be over with, at least according to Kenseth.
In this race I believe he’ll be on his best behavior. I don’t see how he could afford not to be. He wasn’t even the first choice for this ride so it shows his seating among the free agent prospects.
Here’s an excerpt about him from my Bristol Food City 500 Drivers Who You Don’t Want To Pick post:
This week at Thunder Valley last fall’s Mr. Excitement will be making his 2012 series debut. Unless your in certain allocation leagues like Yahoo you should avoid Brian Vickers (you have to start someone here who’s committed to 500 laps). He’s never finished in the top ten at Bristol and he’s only led one lap in fourteen races. I really think the best case scenario for him would be about a 20th place finish. Don’t look for Brian Vickers to be a head hunter this week. I expect him to be on his best behavior.
