Charlotte Coca Cola 600: Fantasy NASCAR “Front Runner” Rankings
Kevin Harvick – Harvick won the Coca Cola 600 last year but you really can’t put to much stock into his victory. Just check out his Yahoo! race chart. He was probably the most shocked person that he won. Harvick’s recent history at Charlotte has been great. In the last four races he has the best average finish (6.5). He certainly hasn’t been dominant though. In this stretch he’s only led 3 laps and his driver rating ranks as the sixth best (93.5). (Yahoo! A Driver)

Denny Hamlin – Hamlin currently has a streak of three consecutive top ten finishes at Charlotte. From a career perspective he’s had some decent finishes at Charlotte but in thirteen races he’s only finished in the top five once . To me that’s an automatic disqualifer for being a Top Tier Elite driver. What I like about Denny Hamlin is that the last time the series visited a 1.5 mile track he emerged victorious. (Yahoo! Carl Edwards – Charlotte Motor Speedway has been an OK track for Carl Edwards. Historically he looks good on paper but his recent finishes tell another story. Since 2008 Carl Edwards has finished in the top ten in just three races and his average finish is 16.5. Coincidentally that’s also his average running position. Last fall Edwards finished 3rd which was his first top ten at Charlotte since 2009. This season on 1.5 mile tracks Edwards has the third best average finish (7.3) and is one of only four drivers who finished in the top ten in every race. (Yahoo! A Driver)
