Drivers To Avoid In The Bristol Irwin Tools Night Race
Joey Logano – I don’t think I would trust Joey Logano at Thunder Valley. The racing will be rough and Logano will get roughed up. NASCAR drivers have given him a hard time at tracks and they won’t hesitate to move him out of the way in the Irwin Tools Night Race. I also don’t trust the #20 team at the moment. There’s lots of uncertainty surrounding them and since his Pocono win they haven’t been that good. (Yahoo! B Driver)

Paul Menard – Menard has had limited success at Bristol but that can be credited because of the high line. That’s no longer at Bristol so those good finishes no longer apply. Menard’s not a beating or banging driver. He’s clean and nice guys who lack success won’t be the best fantasy option in the Irwin Tools Night Race. I think a mid to high teens finish should be expected. (Yahoo! B Driver)

Sam Hornish Jr. – Throughout his career Sam Hornish Jr. has had an affinity for having problems. With Bristol losing the progressive banking his chances of having a problem free race have increased. In six races at Thunder Valley Hornish has a best finish of 25th and an average finish of 31.5. (Yahoo! C Driver)
David Ragan – Ragan has one finish better than 20th this year and it was on a restrictor plate track. This team simply isn’t competitive. In the Irwin Tools Night Race qualifying will be important and his 30.9 average starting position for the year will get him lapped early. Look for him to finish 25th or worse. (Yahoo! C Driver)

Bobby Labonte – I think the grinding down will help Bobby Labonte. On the progressively banked surface he was a high teens finisher and on the new surface I think he’ll finish around 20th. No one will go out of their way to wreck him which will be a big plus in this race. Bristol will hopefully once again be the coliseum of racing. Bristol has never been a great track for Labonte but given his tier I think he has a good chance of avoiding trouble.
