Atlanta Advocare 500: Fantasy NASCAR “Top Tier Elite” Picks
Kasey Kahne – I think Kasey Kahne will be the driver to beat in the Advocare 500. He’s the best driver in the series at running the high line and at Atlanta that’s where the race will be won. This two-time Atlanta winner will also be a serious contender for the pole. The last time the series came to Atlanta he won the pole and currently he has four straight top ten starts (at Atlanta). Kahne has been very good on 1.5 mile intermediate tracks this season. His average starting position is 8.2 and his average finish is 7.4. On this style of track (1.5 mile) in 2012 he has four top tens and would be a perfect five for five but at Las Vegas he had late contact with Kenseth and the wall. (Yahoo! B Driver)

Jimmie Johnson – Jimmie Johnson has been very good on 1.5 mile tracks this season. He leads the series in many important loop data statistical categories. Those include average finish (4.8), average running position (5.0), driver rating (119.8), average starting position (7.0), and he’s ran the highest percentage of laps in the top fifteen (96%). Last season at Atlanta Johnson finished second to Jeff Gordon and led 29 laps. In 2010 he finished 3rd. Atlanta has been a very good track for Johnson. He has a 10th place average finish and in more than half his races he’s finished in the top five (11 top fives). Johnson has three wins at Atlanta with his most recent being in 2007 when he won both races that season. Jimmie Johnson will be a very popular pick by experts for Atlanta. (Yahoo! A Driver)
