New Hampshire Sylvania 300 Practice #1 Notes
Tony Stewart – As soon as practice started Tony Stewart spun. He didn’t hit anything so don’t worry. At the end of practice Steve Addington said they were headed in the direction they were a year ago (finished 2nd and 1st last year). This team struggled earlier this year but they tested a Milwaukee for this race.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. – Junior wasn’t happy with his car. It wasn’t to his liking and he said it drove like a boat. At the end of practice their handling was tight.
New Hampshire Practice #1 Speeds
Dave Blaney – Sam Hornish Jr. didn’t practice his car and Blaney was his replacement. Hornish Jr. will race the #22 on Sunday (will start in the back).
Juan Pablo Montoya – As soon as Montoya got on the track in practice he spun just like Tony Stewart. His car was reported to be both loose and tight.

Jeff Gordon – Jeff Gordon was one of the last drivers to get on the track because the #24 team changed their setup for the cooler temperatures.
Denny Hamlin – Hamlin said “The car is exactly like how it was in July”. He also said they had good forward grip. This week he’s piloting a new chassis and he’s very confident about his chances.
Matt Kenseth – The #17 wasn’t very good today. They were struggling and bouncing on the bumps in race trim. The #17 is also having problems turning.
Greg Biffle – Not satisfied with how the #16 was in race trim.
Martin Truex Jr. – Truex was battling turning issues. He said they were feeling the bumps.
Clint Bowyer – Bowyer said the #15 was good. They tried out some new things in practice so they were hit or miss in race trim. Bowyer thinks their car is close.
Brad Keselowski – Keselowski said they had both speed and handling.
Kevin Harvick – The #29 was good in entry and exit. The car needed work in the middle of the turns though.
