Martinsville Tums Fast Relief 500: Fantasy NASCAR “Front Runner” Rankings
Clint Bowyer – Clint Bowyer had a good car in April. During the final restart he was in third but he got caught up in his “Hail Mary” move and finished 10th. After Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson it’s easy to make the case he had the third best car. His driver rating was the third best (113.7) and his average running position was second only to Jeff Gordon’s (4th). From a career perspective Clint Bowyer has been good at Martinsville but certainly not great. In thirteen races he has seven top tens but only one top five finish. (Yahoo! B Driver)

Dale Earnhardt Jr. – Dale Earnhardt Jr. has the longest active top ten streak at Martinsville (4 straight top tens). He’s never won at this half mile oval but he’s come close to winning a grand father clock. If the spring race were 5 laps shorter last season then he would be a winner. Dale Earnhardt Jr. had a great car this spring. He finished 3rd and had a 5th place average running position. If loop data is a factor in your fantasy picks then you’ll be happy to hear he earned the second best driver rating this spring. I think there’s no question Junior will be in the Tums Fast Relief 500 and I wouldn’t be worried about his health impacting his result. (Yahoo! B Driver)
