Martinsville STP Gas Booster 500 Fantasy NASCAR Front Runner Rankings
Matt Kenseth – I think Kenseth will really benefit from being in a Joe Gibbs car at Martinsville. Equipment is very important here and the JGR Toyota’s rank right up there with the Hendrick Chevy’s. They have excellent brakes and cut through the center of turns with ease. Compared to his old ride this is probably a step and a half up. Recently Kenseth has been solid here. In the last five races he has two top tens and four top fifteens. His only finish not in that range was when Vickers wrecked him in fall 2011 while he was running around 10th. (Yahoo! A Driver)
Brad Keselowski – Last October Brad Keselowski struggled at Martinsville for much of the weekend. He qualified 32nd, struggled in practice and didn’t know what he had until the green flag waved. In the race his car was mediocre at best. Through the first half of the race his struggles continued but in the second half he performed better. The key moment for this team in the race was when there was a late caution with about 20 laps to go and he elected not to pit. Because of this decision he inherited the lead and led 8 laps until Jimmie Johnson passed him. Since he was on old tires he faded back to a sixth place finish. In the spring race last year the #2 was good. Keselowski had a top five car and was running in 4th but during a late restart Clint Bowyer executed his “Hail Mary” and it spun cars up in Keselowski’s direction. In that race his car was really fast over long runs. At some points in the race he was faster than both Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson. Track position is very important at Martinsville and this team will find a way to the front. In six races at Martinsville Keselowski has four top twelve finishes and has never had a result outside the top twenty. (Yahoo! A Driver)

Mark Martin – At Martinsville Mark Martin will be driving the #11. This car is “Top Tier Elite” and following the race I wouldn’t be shocked if Mark Martin says this is the best car he’s ever driven here (tends to say that at all of his stops). Mark Martin has had success at Martinsville. He’s raced here 48 times and has 2 wins and 25 top tens. In four of his last six races here he’s finished in the top ten. Last fall I think the #11 was the best car on the track but a lot of that credit goes to Hamlin’s driving style. In the STP Gas Booster 500 I predict he’ll finish in the top ten. (Yahoo! B Driver)
