Fantasy Racing Not So Fast – Martinsville STP Gas Booster 500
Ricky Stenhouse Jr. – Ricky Stenhouse Jr. has two strikes going against him heading into Martinsville. Strike #1 is that I don’t pick rookies at Martinsville. This is a unique track and rookies are typically unprepared for the race. Strike #2 is that I don’t pick Roush Fenway cars at Martinsville. If you’re in an allocation league picking him here in my opinion isn’t a smart move. His fantasy value won’t be any lower than it will be this weekend. (Yahoo! C Driver)

Marcos Ambrose – Martinsville hasn’t been a good track for Ambrose. He’s raced here 8 times and has never finished in the top ten (22.9 average finish). In five of his starts he’s finished 24th or worse. Last fall he finished 24th and had the 30th worst driver rating. In the 2012 spring race he finished 15th but take note he finished two laps down. In the STP Gas Booster 500 I would recommend you avoid Ambrose. (Yahoo! B Driver)
Bobby Labonte – Last fall Bobby Labonte finished 9th. That marked his first top ten at Martinsville since he finished 3rd in 2005 for the King. I certainly wouldn’t expect him to repeat his top ten performance. If anything I would be afraid of the risk involved with picking him. Between his top ten finishes he had an average finish of 27.6. Regan Smith – At Martinsville Regan Smith will be in the seat of the #51. AJ Allmendinger will be racing in the Indy Car series for Roger Penske this weekend. Martinsville hasn’t been a good track for Smith. He has three finishes in the teens (two in the last two races) but five finishes of 26th or worse. Last fall at Martinsville AJ Allemdnginer looked like he would have a good weekend in this car but late in the race he was dragging his rear bumper bar and NASCAR forced him to come and fix it. He was running around 11th with 78 laps to go when this issue started. (Yahoo! C Driver)
David Ragan – Martinsville hasn’t been a good track for David Ragan. In thirteen starts he has one top ten and has finished outside the top twenty on seven occasions. Last year David Ragan had finishes of 26th and 24th. One positive thing to say about him is that he’s done a good job avoiding trouble here. Only once has he finished outside the top thirty. (Yahoo! Danica Patrick – Get your popcorn ready, this should be good. Danica Patrick is as “green” of a stock car racer as they come. She’s never done anything that could prepare her for this race. As long as she doesn’t wreck or finish just a few laps down it should be considered a victory. What Danica Patrick needs in this race to be successful is lots of cautions and not be involved in any of them. (Yahoo! C Driver)
