Richmond Toyota Owners 400 Practice #1 Notes

Matt Kenseth – Ran the entire practice in race trim. Denny Hamlin said that he’s helping out Matt Kenseth this weekend.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. – Very good on the exit of turn #4. Worked on handling in race trim. Made big gains in practice and is very happy with his car.

Aric Almirola – Focused on race runs. Looking for more speed. Tested here recently.

Martin Truex Jr. – Needs to get his front to turn more to get rear grip. Car is loose. Later he said his car is free in and snappy loose. Said he needs a little  bit.

Kevin Harvick – Feels that his car needs to be a little tighter. Later he was tight in the center and into throttle. Than the team went back to their original setup. Later he said “Drive is good. Just gotta get it to turn thru the center better off the brake” With about 20 minutes remaining he said it still needs to turn better in the center.

Aric Almirola – Tested here. Car was on the splitter. Feels really good this weekend.

Kurt Busch – Had some slight damage on his right rear fender.
