Talladega Aaron’s 499 Fantasy NASCAR Mid Pack Predictions
Carl Edwards – I don’t like the way Carl Edwards has raced on restrictor plate tracks lately. He rides around back in the pack and waits until the “Big One” ensues before he makes his move. I think that’s just a recipe for disaster on this track type. It also certainly hasn’t worked out very well for him. Since 2007 at Talladega Edwards has only finished in the top ten once. I find that a little troubling. Last year Edwards started 7th in both races but had results of 31st and 36th. Earlier this year at Daytona Edwards had a troubling Speed Weeks. Just about every time he was on the track he wrecked. (Yahoo! A Driver)

Joey Logano – Statistically Talladega has been one of Joey Logano’s better tracks. He’s raced here eight times and has finished in the top five a quarter of the time and in the top ten half the time. His last three finishes here have all been 24th or worse but because of the nature of this track that really shouldn’t be a huge concern. Earlier this season in the Daytona 500 Logano finished 19th. Find out who the Top Tier Elite and Front Runners are at Talladega
Michael Waltrip – Given the tier Michael Waltrip is associated with he’s certainly not a bad option for the Aaron’s 499. He’s a restrictor plate track specialist and a former winner. Last fall at Talladega Michael Waltrip had a legitimate shot to win but was taken out when Tony Stewart blocked him. In the 2012 spring race he led 21 laps and finished 19th. When he piloted an extra car for his organization in fall 2011 he came home with a 9th place finish. In this year’s Daytona 500 he finished 22nd but it should be noted his entry wasn’t from MWR.
