Fantasy Racing Not So Fast – Dover FedEx 400
Tony Stewart – If you’re looking for a big name driver to avoid at Dover look no further. The Monster Mile was once one of Stewart’s best tracks but now I would say it’s arguably his worst. In the last five Dover races he has a 24th place average finish, a 25.4 average running position and the 33rd best driver rating. To put his 24th place average finish in perspective that ranks as the worst in the series among what I would call “competitive drivers”. The driver following him is David Gilliland and his is 30.4. It’s also important I mention his average finish isn’t skewed in any way because his worst finish in this span is 29th. When you add in his level of uncompetitiveness this season than it’s easy to forecast he’ll have a long afternoon at Dover. (Yahoo! A Driver)
Juan Pablo Montoya – Juan Pablo Montoya finished 4th in 2009 but beyond that there’s really no other highlights. Since fall 2008 excluding his 4th he’s been tremendously bad here. In those 8 races he has a 28.3 average finish and a 60.9 driver rating. If you pick him you should be prepared for the worst because it likely won’t be pretty. (Yahoo! B Driver)

Bobby Labonte – Last fall at Dover Bobby Labonte finished 14th. I would consider that fools gold if you’re banking on his fantasy value. What happened is that he got lucky when the caution flew during the first pit cycle. He was one of a select few drivers who didn’t pit and that essentially cemented him into a good finish. When the caution flew he was a lap down but he was awarded the lucky dog. In the spring race last season he finished 20th. Based off the way he’s performed this season I expect him to finish in the 20′s. (Yahoo! B Driver)
David Ragan – You don’t want any part of Talladega winner David Ragan at Dover. He has a 24th place average finish and a best overall result of 14th (2007). In the last eight Dover races he’s finished between 21st and 30th. Last year he finished 21st in the spring and 30th in the fall. (Yahoo! C Driver)
Danica Patrick – Last fall Dover was one of the tracks Tony Stewart handpicked for Danica Patrick. He picked it not because its easy, but because it’s hard. It certainly fit the billing of hard for her. She got lapped in about 20 laps and ended up finishing 28th. Look for Danica Patrick to have a long afternoon at Dover. (Yahoo! C Driver)
