Party In The Poconos Practice #1 Notes

Paul Menard – Smoking. Has some sort of transmission issue. Menard tested at Pocono last week. Changed his transmission but won’t need to start in the back.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. – His speeds are looking pretty good. Ran fast lap times. Later he reported that his car was tight and his rear was bottoming out.

Jimmie Johnson – Very fast. Ran the fastest lap in the session at the time on lap #8 (should be considered a long run at Pocono). Said his car turned better the more laps he ran.

Denny Hamlin – Wants more feel in his car.

Mark Martin – Said he nearly wrecked in turn #3. Later in practice he reported his car was a lot better. Late in practice Martin reported that the weepers in turn #3 were killing his speed.
