Michigan Quicken Loans 400 Practice #1 Notes

Tony Stewart – Was using his Charlotte car (finished 7th). Got into the wall hard off turn #2. Will be using a chassis that hasn’t raced in 2013. Got back out on the track with about 15 minutes remaining.

Martin Truex Jr. – In qualifying trim early. Said his car is good.

Kevin Harvick – Best 5 lap average early. Had a push. In a later run he was happy with his car. Worked on qualifying trim towards the end of practice. With about 10 minutes remaining he said his car needs to be better in turns 3&4.

Jimmie Johnson – Said his car was nervous following his first run. Focused on qualifying trim early.

Jamie McMurray – Said his car is good in relation to others. Planned on scuffing tires for much of the practice.
