Kentucky Quaker State 400 Fantasy NASCAR Top Tier Elite Picks
Matt Kenseth – Kenseth is a good pick for the Kentucky Quaker State 400. He’s been one of the most consistent drivers at Kentucky. At this 1.5 mile venue he’s had finishes of 6th and 7th. In last years race he started in 20th and methodically worked his way towards the front. In the two Kentucky races combined he has the 4th best average finish and the 5th best driver rating. I’m expecting big things from Kenseth at Kentucky. Joe Gibbs cars have ranked as the best of the best here. This season on 1.5 mile tracks Kenseth has been the man to beat. Minus the wreck at Charlotte where he arguably had the best car he has two wins and a 12th place finish. (Yahoo! A Driver)
Jimmie Johnson – Last year at Kentucky Jimmie Johnson started on the pole, led 21 laps and finished 6th. In the race his car was very good. As soon as darkness set his car came to life. In the race he would’ve finished even better but he struggled during a late restart. In the last restart he had dirty tires and went from about 5th to the low double digits. He had to drive hard at the end to get his sixth place finish. In 2011 at Kentucky he finished 3rd when David Reutimann passed him at the line. Also in that race he started in 5th, had a 6th place average running position and earned the second best driver rating. In the two Kentucky races combined he has the third best average running position and the third best driver rating. This season on 1.5 mile tracks minus his wreck at Charlotte he’s finished 6th or better every race. (Yahoo! A Driver)

Kyle Busch – Last year at the start of the race at Kentucky Kyle Busch was very good. He qualified in second and led the first 33 laps until Brad Keselowski passed him in a long run. In the race he led 118 laps, had a 5th place average running position and earned the third best driver rating. His strength in the race was being good in the sun when the track was slick. Then before the mid-point of the race on lap #119 he had hard contact with the wall. On lap #191 as a result of the hard contact his car got really bad. He had a broken right rear shock and his car was bobbing up and down. Later in the race on lap #210 after Newman wrecked he was saved by that caution because it allowed his team time to fix the problem. When the checkered flag waved he finished 10th. In 2011 at Kentucky he won the pole, led 125 laps and became the inaugural winner. This season on 1.5 mile tracks when he hasn’t had problems he’s had finishes of 1st (Texas) and 4th (Las Vegas).
