In 2011 he was very mediocre and finished 16th. In the Quaker State 400 Kevin Harvick is very capable of having a good performance. Clint Bowyer – Clint Bowyer has had tough luck at Kentucky. Last season he finished 16th but it wasn’t an easy 16th. Around lap #160 he was battling Joey Logano for about 10th but Newman got into the back of Logano and it shot the #20 right into Bowyer. At first he thought his car was OK but one lap later he had to come in for an emergency pit stop that dropped him two laps down back to 32nd. In the first race at Kentucky he was never competitive. Kyle Busch lapped him 85 laps into the race and with 6 laps remaining he wrecked. In that race he had a 27th place average running position, 49.1 driver rating and only ran .4 percent of the laps inside the top fifteen. In the last two races at 1.5 mile tracks Bowyer has finished 5th and 8th. (Yahoo! A Driver)

Denny Hamlin – Denny Hamlin should be good at Kentucky. Last season he finished 3rd and if he didn’t have to conserve fuel he might’ve had something for Brad Keselowski. In the race Hamlin had a phenomenal car that was really strong under the lights. In the race he started in 3rd, had a 3rd place average running position, led 58 laps and earned the second best driver rating. In 2011 Hamlin had a good car. He started in the rear of the field due to an engine change and finished 11th. What stood out about that performance was that passing was difficult but he was able to get around drivers and march towards the front. This season on 1.5 mile tracks Hamlin has been strong. Look for Hamlin to be a contender in the Quaker State 400. He would be ranked as a Top Tier Elite Pick but he hasn’t had a good finish in a month. (Yahoo! A Driver)
