Daytona Coke Zero 400 Fantasy NASCAR Top Tier Elite Picks
Matt Kenseth – You can’t go wrong if you pick Kenseth to win the Daytona Coke Zero 400. When it comes to restrictor plate racing no one is a better pick than him right now. Last season at Roush Fenway Racing he was unstoppable and he hasn’t lost a step in a Joe Gibbs Toyota. At Daytona in 2012 Kenseth won his second 500 and in July he led 89 laps and finished 3rd. In this years Great American race Matt Kenseth was very strong. He led the most laps (86) but while he was leading with about 50 laps to go his motor blew up. If that didn’t happen I think he likely would’ve won. With his elite drafting skill it’s unlikely anyone could get around him. At Talladega this season Kenseth was dominant but the drafting works a little different there. In that race he finished 8th, led 142 laps and had a 2nd place average running position. (Yahoo! Kevin Harvick – Kevin Harvick arguably had the best car at Daytona earlier this season. He just never had a chance to show it because he was involved in the lap #33 wreck. During Speed Weeks Harvick won the Shootout and his Duel race. Since 2009 Harvick has one win and has finished 7th or better five times. Last summer he finished 23rd but it should be noted he was running well when the last lap “Big One’ ensued. When it comes to making a default pick on restrictor plate tracks he’s never a bad option. He has three career wins on this track type and is an elite talent at the art of drafting. With his recent hot streak he’s almost a neck to neck favorite with Matt Kenseth. (Yahoo! A Driver)

Tony Stewart – Tony Stewart has thrived in the July race at Daytona. He’s never won the Daytona 500 but he’s won the July event four times. The main differentiator between the two races is that in July the track is slicker and handling comes into play. Currently Stewart’s the defending champion of this race. Last summer he qualified second but his time was disallowed (open vent hose). As a result he started back in 42nd and had to earn his victory the hard way. In this season’s Daytona 500 Tony Stewart had a fast car and was viewed as a favorite. His downfall in the race was the lap #33 “Big One” that happened when Kyle Busch wrecked Kasey Kahne. In the 500 passing was difficult but following his wreck he was interviewed and said that he was the only person passing anyone. Look for Tony Stewart to contend for the win in the Daytona Coke Zero 400. (Yahoo! A Driver)
