Indy Samuel Deeds 400 Yahoo! C List Fantasy NASCAR Preview
Austin Dillion – Austin Dillion will be behind the wheel of the #33 once again at Indy. Look for him to have a strong performance in his tier. He’ll be driving the chassis he finished 11th with at Michigan. Last season at Indy in the Nationwide Series he started in 7th and finished 5th.
Ricky Stenhouse Jr. – Ricky Stenhouse Jr. will be making his Sprint Cup debut at Indy on Sunday. Last year in the inaugural race in the Nationwide Series he started in 10th, had a 10th place average running position and finished 9th. At Pocono in June Stenhouse Jr. struggled. He started in 16th, had a 22nd place average running position and finished 26th. Also in the race he earned the 24th best driver rating. Look for him to finish between the mid teens to mid twenties in the Samuel Deeds 400. (Yahoo! C Driver)
AJ Allmendinger – At Indianapolis AJ Allmendinger will be driving the #51. Earlier this year in the Indy 500 he looked very competitive but while he was leading his seat belt came undone. Indy has been somewhat of a solid track for him. He’s raced here four times and has one top ten and a 17.0 average finish. He last raced here in 2011 and finished 22nd. At Pocono earlier this season AJ Allmendinger drove the #51 and finished 33rd. With 13 laps remaining he was running in the mid twenties but had a flat left front. (Yahoo! C Driver)
Trevor Bayne – Trevor Bayne has two races under his belt at Indy. In his first race he finished 30th, but he was much better last season. In 2012 he started in 18th and finished 17th. Also in the race he earned the 22st best driver rating and had a 20th place average running position. With his limited schedule this might be a good week to consider picking him in C. (Yahoo! Danica Patrick – Indy Motor Speedway was arguably Danica Patrick’s best track in the Indy Car series. For fantasy racing purposes that shouldn’t be a factor in your decision. The best way to gauge her fantasy value is to evaluate her performance at Pocono earlier this season and her performance at Indy in the Nationwide Series. At Pocono in June she struggled. She started in 30th and finished 29th. Also in the race she had a 23rd place average running position and earned the 27th best driver rating. Last year in the Nationwide Series she had a short race. She was involved in a wreck and finished 35th. (Yahoo! C Driver)
Casey Mears – In 2005 Casey Mears finished 6th at Indy. That’s his only highlight here. All of his other 8 finishes are 19th or worse. Since 2005 he has a 27.7 average finish and a 26.0 average running position. His driver rating since then ranks as the 33rd best. At Pocono earlier this season he finished 22nd. (Yahoo! C Driver)
David Ragan – Don’t expect much out of David Ragan at Indy. He’s had a result in the twenties the last four races here. In 2011 in his Roush Fenway ride he started on the pole but still managed to finish 23rd. Last season he had a 29th place average running position and finished 28th. If you pick him he’s a lock for a similar finish in 2013. (Yahoo! C Driver)
