Juan Pablo Montoya – Juan Pablo Montoya performed better than he finished in June. He had about a 10th place car but finished 14th. In the race he started back in 25th and had a 13th place average running position. The Hendrick horsepower under his hood is a big plus. Last August at Pocono he started on the pole, led the first 7 laps but faded back to a 20th place finish. In June last year his stats line has a lot of 17’s. He started in 17th, finished 17th, and had a 17th place average running position. Montoya has had some success at Pocono. Since 2009 he has 4 top tens and has only finished worse than 20th once. Paul Menard – At Pocono earlier this season Paul Menard finished 30th. That snapped his streak of six straight top 16 finishes at the Tricky Triangle. What happened to him is that he had a flat tire on the last lap. With 4 laps to go he was running in 16th. In his next three most recent races at Pocono he’s finished 11th, 9th and 10th. One strength of Menard’s at Pocono has been qualifying. In the last four races where the starting lineup was set by speed he’s qualified 2nd, 3rd, 3rd and 7th. (Yahoo! B Driver)

Jamie McMurray – Jamie McMurray had a respectable performance at Pocono earlier this season. He started in 22nd and finished 13th. Also in the race he had an 18th place average running position and earned the 18th best driver rating. Last year at Pocono Jamie McMurray played the pit strategy game twice. In June he finished 10th and in August he finished 17th. Historically Pocono hasn’t been a good track for him. His best finish is 9th and his average finish is 21st.
