Watkins Glen CHEEZ-IT 355 Fantasy NASCAR Top Tier Elite Picks
Kyle Busch – You can’t pick anybody better than Busch to win the Watkins Glen CHEEZ-IT 355. With the exception of his rookie race he’s been phenomenal here. He’s a former winner who currently has seven consecutive top ten finishes and seven consecutive top ten starts. Last year Kyle Busch had the best car but he lost the race on the last lap (PROS Rankings). He was the first driver who ran into the oil on the track and as a result it had the greatest impact on him. On the final lap he got dumped by Keselowski but because of his big lead and quick recovery he managed to finish 7th. In last season’s race he started in 2nd, had a 3rd place average running position, led 43 laps and earned the best driver rating. In 2011 he also had the best car but victory eluded him. In that race he started on the pole, led 49 laps and finished 3rd. In 2008 he started on the pole, led more than half the race (52 laps) and took home the trophy. At Infineon earlier this season Kyle Busch had a good car but his race wasn’t problem free. He got spun from Montoya early (was in 8th), got penalized for speeding on pit road and then got wrecked by Edwards while battling for 15th. When the checkered flag waved he finished 36th. (Yahoo! Marcos Ambrose – Marcos Ambrose is a good pick to win the CHEEZ-IT 355 at the Glen. He’s won the last two races at Watkins Glen and has a 2.0 average finish. In five races he’s never finished worse than 3rd. Over these five races he has the 2nd best driver rating, an 8.8 average running position but has only led 46 laps. That lap led total equates out to leading essentially just half of one race. Last season at Watkins Glen he had a third place car but was aided by an oiled track on the last lap. In last years race he started in 5th, had a 6th place average running position, led 8 laps and earned the 3rd best driver rating. In his 2011 victory he started in 3rd, led 21 laps and earned the second best driver rating. At Infineon earlier this season he started in 2nd, led 18 laps and finished 7th. He’s much better at Watkins Glen so don’t be put off by that result. On road course races Marcos Ambrose currently has ten consecutive top 8 finishes. From an allocation perspective he needs to be on your team. Look for many Fantasy NASCAR experts to pick Ambrose. (Yahoo! B Driver)

Tony Stewart –Tony Stewart broke his leg on Monday night in a Sprint Car race. As a result he’ll miss Watkins Glen. Below is his content if he would be racing.
Tony Stewart had a very good car at Watkins Glen last year so don’t be fooled by his 19th place finish. In the race he started in 7th but during his first pit stop he had a penalty which dropped him back in the running order. That wasn’t a problem for him because he was able to move up through the field better than anyone. On lap #30 he was back in 25th but by lap #39 he moved up to 13th. Following the third caution he moved all the way up to 2nd. Then with 20 laps to go he spun on his own pancaking the rear of the #14. When the checkered flag waved he finished 19th. In 2011 he had his worst finish ever and crossed the finish line in 27th. In that race he was running in the top ten on the final lap but got to aggressive and took himself out. Watkins Glen has been a great track for Stewart. He’s won here five times and has a 7.9 average finish. He’s also qualified quite well and has a 6.3 average starting position. (Yahoo! A Driver)
