Pure Michigan 400 Fantasy NASCAR Front Runner Rankings
Joey Logano – Joey Logano is the top ranked Front Runner Rankings driver for the Pure Michigan 400. Earlier this year had a strong performance at Michigan. He started in 6th, had a 6th place average running position, led 21 laps, earned the 4th best driver rating and finished 9th. His 9th place effort marked his 4th top ten in 9 races at MIS. This season on high-speed intermediate tracks he’s been a consistent viable dark horse sleeper option. On high-speed intermediates this year minus his Kansas wreck he has a 6.3 average finish, 4 top fives and 5 top tens (total of 6 races minus Kansas). His best performance of the season came at Michigan’s sister track. At Auto Club Speedway he led 41 laps and would’ve finished either 1st or 2nd if he didn’t make contact with Denny Hamlin. (Yahoo! Martin Truex Jr. – In June Martin Truex Jr. had a good performance at Michigan. He started in 13th, had a 7th place average running position, finished 3rd and earned the third best driver rating. It was just an all around solid performance. Last year in the other two races on the new surface at Michigan he had respectable finishes. In August 2012 he finished 10th and in June 2012 he finished 10th. The main source of my fantasy optimism in Truex Jr. is how well he’s performed on high-speed intermediates this season. At these venues he has a 7.3 average finish, an 8.7 average running position, led 188 laps and is the only driver in the series who’s finished in the top ten six times. (Yahoo! B Driver)

Clint Bowyer – Nobody has been more consistent than Clint Bowyer on the new surface at Michigan. In every race on the new pavement he’s finished 7th. At Michigan in June Clint Bowyer of course finished 7th. It wasn’t an easy 7th though because he had adversity right when the race started. When the green flag waved he started back in 27th and when traffic bottled up he damaged the #15 early. For much of the race he ran around the tail end of the lead lap. His average running position was 20th and until the final caution he never really ran higher than 15th. In the last segment of the race he drove hard and earned his finish. Last August at MIS he led 19 laps and earned the 8th best driver rating. In June 2012 he had a 7th place average running position and earned the 6th best driver rating. In 2011 both of his finishes were 8th. This season on high-speed intermediate tracks his season got off to a rough start. It isn’t rough any longer though. In the last four races on this sub track type he has finishes of 5th (Kansas), 8th (Charlotte), 7th (Michigan) and 3rd (Kentucky). (Yahoo! A Driver)
