Bristol IRWIN Tools Night Race Fantasy NASCAR Top Tier Elite Picks
Kyle Busch – You can’t go wrong picking Kyle Busch to win the Bristol IRWIN Tools Night Race. Earlier this year at Bristol Busch had a very strong car. He started on the pole, led 56 laps, earned the second best driver rating and finished runner-up. In the race his average running position was 8th but it could’ve been even better. What happened is during the first round of pit stops while he was leading he got caught speeding on pit road. As a result of that he dropped all the way back to 35th. He didn’t stay back for long. His car handled good in traffic and it only took him about 100 laps to crack the top ten again. Last August in the first race on the ground down surface he finished 6th. It wasn’t an easy sixth place finish though because in that race he also had a speeding penalty. Additionally in that race he had a 10th place average running position and earned the 5th best driver rating. It’s no secret how successful Kyle Busch has been at Bristol. He’s won here five times, has finished in the top five nearly 50% percent of the time and has finished in the top ten 71% percent of the time. Look for many fantasy NASCAR experts to pick Kyle Busch to win the Bristol IRWIN Tools Night Race. My prediction is that he’ll win this event. (Yahoo! B Driver)
Jimmie Johnson – In March at Bristol Jimmie Johnson had a top five car but came home with a 22nd place result. What happened is that melted the bead on his tire and hit the wall with about 50 laps to go. That incident happened while he was running around 5th. Even with that problem with about 10% percent of the race remaining he still had a 7th place average running position and earned the 10th best driver rating. Last August in the first race on the ground down surface he finished 2nd and led 52 laps. Since 2009 Jimmie Johnson has arguably been the best driver at Bristol. Since then he has 1 win, led 746 laps, has a 6.9 average running position and a 9.7 average finish. Look for Jimmie Johnson to be tough to beat in the Bristol Irwin Tools Night Race. (Yahoo! Matt Kenseth – Matt Kenseth unquestionably had one of the best cars at Bristol in March. He started in 12th but cracked the top five in the first 20 laps. Also in the race he led 85 laps and earned the sixth best average running position. When the checkered flag waved he finished 35th with a totaled race car. What happened is that Jeff Gordon had a flat tire and slid up the track and collected Matt Kenseth. This happened while they were running 1-2 respectively. In the race his car was exceptionally strong. It was fast in both the high lane and the low lane. Last August in the other race on the new surface Kenseth had a good race. In that event he had brake line issues early but he was able to rebound from that. Later in the event he even found himself in the lead and led 25 laps. Then on lap #331 he was battling Tony Stewart for the lead and they wrecked each other. Prior to that race he had six consecutive top ten results. Bristol has historically been a good track for Kenseth. He’s won here twice, finished in the top ten 63% percent of the time and has a 12.8 average finish. (Yahoo! A Driver)
