Bristol IRWIN Tools Night Race Fantasy NASCAR Front Runner Rankings
Joey Logano – Joey Logano is my top ranked Front Runner Rankings driver for the Bristol IRWIN Tools Night Race. On the new Bristol surface Logano has been good. Earlier this year he had a top five car but while he was running in 2nd battling Jeff Gordon for the lead around lap #350 Denny Hamlin spun him. In the race Logano’s car was very fast and it got better over the course of a long run. Last August in the first race on the new surface he had an impressive performance. He qualified 4th, had a 7th place average running position, led 139 laps, finished 8th and earned the second best driver rating. Prior to the Bristol ground down he wasn’t competitive at Thunder Valley. Look for Joey Logano to go for the “Hail Mary” because a second win would solidify his Chase chances. (Yahoo! B Driver)
Jeff Gordon – In March Jeff Gordon had one of the best cars in the field at Bristol. When it came to passing the competition nobody could do that better. He could dive bomb the #24 in the corners with ease and pass drivers with a slide job. The race wasn’t trouble free for him though. While he was leading around lap #390 he had a flat tire and shot up the track and collected Matt Kenseth. As a result of that he finished 34th. If he didn’t have any problems in the race he had a winning to 5th place car. In the race he started in 11th, led 66 laps and earned the 7th best driver rating despite missing 1/5th of the race. Last August in the first race on the new surface Gordon had a strong showing. He once again started in 11th, had the third best average running position (8th) and finished 3rd. From a career perspective Bristol has been a great track for Gordon. He has a 12.4 average finish and has won five times. One attribute I like about Gordon here is that he’s not afraid to move people out of the way. (Yahoo! A Driver)

Martin Truex Jr. – Bristol has been a good track for Martin Truex Jr. In the last four races he has two top three results and a 7th place average finish. He’s also had some other good races at this venue over the course of his career but many of those results were ruined by the bad luck that often frequents him. Earlier this season at Bristol Truex Jr. started in 9th, had a 10th place average running position and finished 12th. That last loop data stats line represents his race pretty well, especially the second half of the event. Last August on the new surface he was a serious contender. He led 44 laps, earned the 4th best driver rating and finished 11th. In the two prior races he had results of second and third. (Yahoo! B Driver)
