Bristol IRWIN Tools Night Race Fantasy NASCAR Mid Pack Predictions
Jamie McMurray – If you’re looking for a sleeper / dark horse pick for the Bristol IRWIN Tools Night Race Jamie McMurray isn’t a bad option . In six of the last eight races at Bristol he’s finished 11th or better. Over the course of these eight races his 10.4 average finish ranks as the second best in the series. Earlier this season Jamie McMurray started in 6th and finished 10th. It wasn’t an easy 10th place finish though. On lap #70 while he was running in third he got a little to high on the track and spun on his own. That dropped him all the way back to the thirties. Last August at Bristol McMurray was mediocre. He started in 26th, had a 20th place average running position and finished 17th. Look for McMurray to challenge for a top ten in the Bristol IRWIN Tools Night Race. (Yahoo! B Driver)
Marcos Ambrose – Bristol ranks as one of Ambrose’s best oval tracks. He has a 16.8 average finish and has had a result in the top twenty in 7 of his 9 starts. Last August in the first race on the new layout he earned the 7th best driver rating, had a 10th place average running position and finished 5th. Earlier this season he never had a chance to back up his strong showing. On lap #54 he was involved in a multi-car wreck. It damaged the front end of his car and ruined his aerodynamics. As a result of that he finished 19th. As long as he avoids problems he could potentially challenge for a top ten but a 15th place finish could prove to be a likely result. (Yahoo! B Driver)

Jeff Burton – Jeff Burton had a shortened race at Bristol earlier this season. On lap #54 he was running in the low double digits but was involved in a multi-car wreck. That was essentially the end of the day for him. Last August at Bristol Jeff Burton had a good car but had a similar fate. He liked his #31 and ran as high as 2nd before his first pit stop. Burton ran in the top five continually until about lap #150 when he got shuffled back because of pit strategy. Then when he was back in traffic he was an innocent victim when Juan Pablo Montoya wrecked Newman. At the time of the crash he was running around 16th. In his last incident free race here he finished 6th (spring 2012). Burton’s a former winner at Bristol but since his victory he’s finished outside the top fifteen six times. (Yahoo! B Driver)
