Yahoo! C List Fantasy NASCAR Preview – Bristol IRWIN Tools Night Race
Ricky Stenhouse Jr. – Ricky Stenhouse Jr. had a solid race at Bristol earlier this season. He kept his nose clean and finished 16th. Also in the race he had a 19th place average running position and earned the 21st best driver rating. Some say Dover is similar to Bristol and in the last two races at the Monster Mile he’s finished 12th and 13th. If you have a lot of Stenhouse Jr. allocations it might be worth starting him but if you’re low you should avoid him.
Casey Mears – Casey Mears had his best race in a long time at Bristol last August. He started on the pole (practice speed), led 26 laps and finished 21st. Also in the race he had a 19th place average running position and earned the 24th best driver rating. Earlier this season he had a very respectable performance. He started in 15th and finished 15th. In the IRWIN Tools Night Race I think he has a solid chance to battle for a teens finish but a result in the 20′s should be expected. Given the tier he’s in though he’s certainly not looking like a bad option.
David Ragan – In terms of Yahoo! C list fantasy value David Ragan really isn’t that bad of an option. In four out of the last five races he’s finished between 16th and 23rd. Also he’ll help you save allocations for bigger names at other venues.

Ryan Truex Jr. – At Bristol Ryan Truex Jr. will be making his Sprint Cup debut in the #51. He’s raced here twice in the Nationwide Series and earlier this season he finished 10th. Some say Dover is like Bristol and he’s had some success there in the lower series. Earlier this season in the Nationwide series he started on the pole and finished 2nd. The Cup series is much tougher though and I think it’s best to keep expectations really, really low. I know I wouldn’t pick him.
Danica Patrick – Danica Patrick has two races under her belt at Bristol. Both races have proven very challenging for her. In last season’s race she crashed and finished 29th. In the race she actually performed much better than anyone would’ve thought. With 66 laps to go she was running in 19th on the lead lap but was wrecked. Earlier this season she struggled. She started in 41st, had a 29th place average running position and finished 28th. In the race it only took 44 laps until she found herself a lap down.
