Yahoo! C List Fantasy Preview – Richmond Federated Auto Parts 400
AJ Allmendinger – AJ Allmendinger has been successful at Richmond. In his last five Richmond races he has two top tens and a 11.2 average finish. Earlier this season he drove the #51 car and finished 14th. By no means was he that good though. During the last caution he played the pit strategy game and stayed out on the track. Over the Green-White-Checker he fell back to 14th. If that caution didn’t come out he would’ve finished around 20th. New Hampshire is the most similar track visited recently and in July he finished 22nd. That result was in the #51. In the Richmond Federated Auto Parts 400 he’ll be driving the #47 car.
Ricky Stenhouse Jr. – Ricky Stenhouse Jr. had one of his better races of the season at Richmond. He started in 12th and finished 16th. In the race he didn’t perform as well as his finish. He had a 22nd place average running position and earned the 24th best driver rating. Last year in the Nationwide Series Stenhouse Jr. had finishes of 2nd and 4th at Richmond.

David Ragan – David Ragan has had some success at Richmond. He has three top five finishes and in 2011 he finished 4th twice. It’s important to note though that those results came in Roush Fenway equipment. With his current employer he has two 32nd place finishes and a 20th. Earlier this season he started in 20th and finished 20th. Also in the race he had a 25th place average running position and earned the 27th best driver rating. From an allocation perspective he’s not a bad fantasy option if you need to save starts on others.
Casey Mears – Casey Mears doesn’t have Richmond fantasy potential you want to be tied to. Since 2010 he has a best finish of 17th and a 24.6 average finish. Also over these races he has the 33rd best driver rating, a 26.6 average running position and has only ran in the top fifteen in 1.6% percent of the laps completed. Earlier this season at Richmond he started in 40th, had a 33rd place average running position and finished 30th.
Danica Patrick – Earlier this season Danica Patrick made her first career start at Richmond. She finished (30th) almost exactly where she started (29th). She finished four laps down and was very uncompetitive in the event. I would expect a similar result in the Federated Auto Parts 400. Last year in the Nationwide Series she had finishes of 21st and 29th. At Phoenix earlier this season she was involved in an accident and finished 39th.
Ryan Truex Jr. – Ryan Truex Jr. will be piloting the #51 in the Richmond Federated Auto Parts 400. In terms of picking him I just see risk and no reward. At Bristol a few weeks back he made his Sprint Cup debut and finished 42nd. Last season in the Nationwide Series he finished 16th. In 2011 at RIR he had results of 8th and 4th.
