Jimmie Johnson – Missed practice due to the birth of his child. Regan Smith practiced his car. They worked on making his car comfortable in race trim. Smith’s lap times were consistent.

Brad Keselowski – Full qualifying trim to start off practice. Went to the top of the board. Tested here recently and it’s said it was a good test. Said he had a very good car.

Martin Truex Jr. – Wearing the same type of cast he wore last week. Said Atlanta was the hardest race he ever ran. Loose on throttle early in practice. Said his times were competitive and the car doesn’t drive bad. Said tire drop off will be big tomorrow.

David Gilliland – Tight in center. Free off. His car improved later in practice.

Josh Wise – Tight through corner, good drive off.
