AAA Texas 500 NASCAR Practice #1 Notes

Kevin Harvick – Early in practice his tires were chattering at both ends of the track. “Good to the throttle, but a touch too free after that”. His crew chief said he had good lap times. Harvick said it’s so good on entry into the corner it’s not good off (was in race trim).

Matt Kenseth – Started practice in race trim. Said his car is good on exit but they need to work on entry. Pretty happy with his car (was in race trim).

Jimmie Johnson – Focused purely on qualifying trim. Wanted to keep the miles down on his car because he tested here last week.

David Ragan – Tight early in race trim. Was in race trim through the first 45 minutes.
