AAA Texas 500 NASCAR Happy Hour Practice Notes
Jimmie Johnson – Had tire rub smoke at the start of Happy Hour. Chad Knaus Said, “Really nice run Jimmie, really nice run”. Had some sort of gas pedal problem with his car at the end of a 19 lap run. It was a broken foot board. He focused on running the bottom of the track.
Kurt Busch – Said he has short run speed but really needs to work on long speed (between practice interview). In Happy Hour he was tight going into turns and was OK coming off of them.
Carl Edwards – Likes his race car.
Matt Kenseth – Showed good speed over an extended run early in Happy Hour. Worked on fine tuning his car and only made small adjustments.
