Phoenix AdvoCare 500 Fantasy NASCAR Front Runner Rankings
Brad Keselowski – Brad Keselowski has been solid on the new surface at Phoenix. In the last three races on the new surface he has a 5.0 average finish, 7.0 average running position and the third best driver rating. This spring at Phoenix he had his best performance. He finished 4th, led 16 laps and had the third best driver rating. Last season he had results of 5th and 6th. His 6th place finish last fall doesn’t really reflect how good he was. His car was better than that. In that race he earned my #1 position in the PROS Rankings. What happened is that as soon as he took the lead from Kyle Busch with 79 laps to go Jimmie Johnson wrecked the following lap. After that he drove conservative and no longer raced for the win because “you know who” was in the garage. In long runs in November 2012 no one was better than Keselowski. In March last year Brad was also very fast. He had a 7th place average running position and finished 5th. In the Richmond cutoff race Keselowski had a strong car at the start of the race but he lost the handle. In that event he started in 3rd, led 142 laps and finished 17th. (Yahoo A Driver)

Denny Hamlin – On the new surface at Phoenix no driver has been better than Denny Hamlin. In the four races on the repaved surface he has 1 win, a 4.5 average finish and is the only driver with 3 top fives. Earlier this year at Phoenix Denny Hamlin had a great car. He started in the rear of the field because of an engine change but he didn’t stay back for long. By the midway point of the race he running in 5th. When the checkered flag waved he crossed the finish line in 3rd just inches behind Jimmie Johnson. In 2012 at Phoenix Hamlin had a phenomenal season. He finished 1st in March and 2nd in November. In the 2012 combined races he had a 3.5 average running position, led 107 laps and earned the second best driver rating. In the inaugural race on the new surface in 2011 he finished 12th. When Denny Hamlin is 100% I think he’s the best driver in the series on shorter flat tracks like Phoenix. Richmond and New Hampshire are similar tracks and recently at those venues he had results of 12th and 21st. With his recent improved performances I think he has good sleeper value for the Phoenix AdvoCare 500. (Yahoo A Driver)
