Phoenix AdvoCare 500 Fantasy NASCAR Mid Pack Predictions
Juan Pablo Montoya – Juan Pablo Montoya has been very consistent at Phoenix since it was reconfigured. On the new surface he has a 12.5 average result and has finished between 11th and 15th every race. His four top fifteen finishes tie him with Denny Hamlin for being the only drivers who are 4 for 4 when it comes to finishing within that mark. In the combined races in this stretch his average finish ranks as the 6th best for drivers who completed in all four races. Earlier this season at Phoenix he had a respectable performance. He finished 12th, led 12 laps and had a 14th place average running position. His laps led all came from an early segment of the race where he used pit strategy. Phoenix is essentially a reverse Richmond and at that venue in the spring he had a winning car until a late caution came out. (Yahoo B Driver)

Greg Biffle – Greg Biffle has been solid on the new surface at Phoenix. On it he has a 10.0 average finish and the 5th best driver rating. Earlier this season at Phoenix he didn’t look impressive. He started in 17th, finished 17th, had a 13th place average running position and led 39 laps. His lap led total shouldn’t be part of your fantasy equation if you’re considering him. Those laps led all came from being out of sequence with the field in the first quarter of the race. Minus that segment he clearly looked like a mid teens performer. In 2012 at Phoenix Biffle had good results. In the fall he finished 7th but that result is misleading. In that race his average running position was 21st and he only ran in the top fifteen in 10.3% percent of the laps run. With 20 laps to go he was back in 20th. In spring 2012 he finished 3rd. In the last two races on tracks that I consider similar he’s had respectable performances. At Richmond he finished 12th and at New Hampshire he finished 3rd. (Yahoo B Driver)
