Race Notes
Jeff Gordon – Took the lead on the first lap. Side drafted Danica Patrick. Gordon has led in more Daytona 500′s than anybody not named Richard Petty or Dale Earnhardt Sr. Gordon was good in his Duel Race but he had a pit penalty.
Greg Biffle – Had a good handling car that worked well in traffic. Finished 2nd in his Duel race.
David Gilliland – Down a cylinder on lap #14
Michael Waltrip & Trevor Bayne lost the draft on lap #20
Lap #33 Wreck : Kasey Kahne was spun by Kyle Busch. Others who were collected were Kevin Harvick, Tony Stewart, Jamie McMurray, Juan Pablo Montoya, Casey Mears, Kurt Busch (minor damage) and Brad Keselowski (minor damage).
Tony Stewart –Passing was difficult in the Daytona 500 but in his post wreck interview he said he was the only driver passing anyone.
Kurt Busch – Lapped on lap #46. Was running by himself.
