Daytona 500 NASCAR Practice #3 Notes

Practice #3 was very short. It was done following damage to the fence after the second wreck.

Brian Vickers – Wrecked early in practice. Will be going to a backup car (picture of damage).

Jeff Gordon – Got minor damage from the roof flap of the #55 car (picture of damage)

Cole Whitt – Got into the wall and got damage in the opening wreck.

AJ Allmendinger – Got damage in the opening wreck. Replaced his front splitter.

Joey Logano – Got damage in the second wreck in practice. Will be going to a backup car. Before practice his crew chief said they would focus on running in the dirty air in the draft

Paul Menard – Wrecked and hot heavy damage. Will be going to a backup car.

Dave Blaney – Wrecked in the second accident. Doesn’t have a backup car on hand.

Casey Mears – Got some slight nose damage from the opening wreck. Thinks he will be done for the day so the team can fix the car properly.

Jamie McMurray – His crew chief said the team would focus on running in as big of packs as possible.

Tony Stewart – Wanted to run limited laps.

Martin Truex Jr. – Only made one run in practice #3.

Jimmie Johnson – Didn’t practice in the opening session of practice today.
