Kurt Busch started in 8th but because of how the opening of the race played out he was up to third early in the event.
Jeff Gordon passed Hamlin for the lead on lap 19. His car was good over long runs. It’s what his crew worked on during practice.

Kevin Harvick’s car rolled good through the turns.
